Building Template: Learning Tiles
After a lazy day yesterday, I decided to have a lazy day today too! I'm still working on the game, but a little more slowly since it's less technical and more tedious. I dove back in by learning more about the way Godot deals with tilemaps. At first, it seemed like every TileMapLayer required it's own tileset, but I found that's not true, I can re-use tilesets from one to another. So now I've got a single tileset I'm going to keep expanding to use throughout the game.
I've now painted a simple room with this tileset in my template, and added two more TileMapLayers. That means I have three, one for the floor and walls, another for the furniture, and a third for the roof and outside of the building. Nothing much more done though. I really need to stop playing other games and focus on my own!
